TTAIFA PRESIDENT
Mr. Gerald Cruickshank began his career as an insurance advisor in 1989 at British American Insurance Company where he spent 26 years, moving from a Sales Representative to a Unit Manager and then Branch Manager. Among his sterling performances was his qualification as a member of the Million Dollar Round Table for four consecutive years and winning his Company’s Top Unit Award and Top Agency Award on more than one occasion. He served as director of the TTAIFA’s North Chapter and then migrated to the East Chapter serving as a director for many years until becoming president of the TTAIFA’s East Chapter from 2009 to 2011 and moved through the ranks from Assistant Secretary/Treasurer,  Secretary/Treasurer, Education Chair, LUATC Moderator, Awards Chairman,  Vice President then President of the National Board of TTAIFA for 2015 to 2017 to his present position. Mr. Cruickshank is also an Executive Member of the Caribbean Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors (CARAIFA) and is presently the CARAIFA Regional Congress Chair for 2018. He is the Managing Director of GDC Financial Services Ltd a General Insurance Agency with Sagicor General Insurance and is also an Agency Manager at Pan American Life Insurance.

Mrs Mariana Galindo entered the insurance industry in 1995. She spent most of her years in Sagicor Life Inc (formerly Barbados Mutual Life Assurance Society). She has received various company awards, including Production and Persistency Awards, attained in the categories Silver, Gold and Platinum for the years 1999, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2009 and 2012. She qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table in 2003- 2005 She served as president of the TTAIFA East Chapter from 2011 to 2013, and Secretary Treasurer in 2014 .

COMMITTEES

Executive Committee

has the power to act on behalf of the Board of Directors where, in its opinion, it would be inadvisable to delay action until the next meeting of the Board.

Finance Committee

The Executive Committee acts as the Finance Committee and in an advisory capacity to the Secretary/Treasurer in carrying out the duties assigned.

Membership Committee

Exercises sufficient powers to promote the best interests of the Association in matters pertaining to membership. Publicity and Information responsible for bringing to the attention of members and the general public, all such facts and suggestions which in the opinion of the Board should be given due publicity.

Taxation and Legislation Committee

Shall treat with all matters pertaining to taxation and legislation which relate directly or indirectly to the institution of the financial services sector and the Association in particular.

Ethics and Practice Committee

Shall treat with all matters pertaining to ethics and practice which relate directly or indirectly to the institution of the financial services sector and the Association in particular.

Marketing Practices Committee

responsible for a programme of continuing research and the dissemination of information concerning agents remuneration, industry practices and the quality of life insurance services offered to the public.

Education Committee

gives direction in the development of basic and specialized courses; in regulating revision of text material, preparation of exams and general administration of the education programme in the continuing training and education of advisors.
